About

In 2020, I conferred my masters degree in Health Policy from the University of California San Francisco. I discovered all policy is health policy including education. At this point, I began thinking about how to bring my talents home to benefit my own community. I deeply understand the connection between education and health outcomes. It is my goal to ensure that every child of Antioch can succeed at life to the best of their ability. This goal can be realized by positively impacting education policy with focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), improving literacy outcomes and the social/emotional well-being of our students.

I spent the first twenty years of my professional life in academic medicine working with critically ill children and their families. A large part of that entailed advocating for and educating parents regarding how to care for their children’s complex medical needs. I’ve also spent time as a Pediatric Clinical Faculty member at Cal State East Bay supporting a team of Bachelor of Science in Nursing candidates through application of nursing theory and direct patient care. Vote for me so we can give our children a fighting chance at realizing their full potential.
